PETA + Ogilvy and Mather — Behind the Leather
As part of a 2016 animal rights awareness campaign, PETA Asia and Ogilvy and Mather Advertising teamed up to open The Leather Work, a luxury pop-up shop in Bangkok’s lively CentralWorld mall. Upon entering the store, visitors were confronted with the truly unthinkable suffering behind every product made from animal skins.
“Every year, hundreds of thousands of reptiles are crudely bludgeoned and skinned alive, all for the sake of so-called ‘luxury’ shoes, belts and bags”, says PETA Director Mimi Bekhechi. “PETA Asia’s gruesome pop-up shop reminds shoppers that the only way to keep blood and guts out of our closets is to choose vegan clothing, shoes and accessories.”
